TabSense Privacy Policy

TabSense is a local-first browser extension designed to help users remember pages, recover browsing context, and restore recent sessions. This Privacy Policy explains what data TabSense handles, how it is used, and what controls users have.

What TabSense collects

When enabled, TabSense may collect and store the following information from standard http and https pages that a user visits:

How TabSense uses this data

TabSense uses this information only to provide its user-facing features, including:

Where data is stored

TabSense stores its data locally on the user's device using browser-provided local storage and IndexedDB. The extension is designed to work without sending captured browsing data to the developer's servers.

Data sharing and sale

TabSense does not sell personal data. TabSense does not share collected browsing data with third parties. The extension is designed to operate locally on-device.

Incognito and sensitive sites

Incognito capture is disabled by default. TabSense also supports excluded domains so users can prevent capture on specific sites. Default exclusions include some account and payment domains, and users can add or remove exclusions in the extension settings.

Data retention

Stored page memory and session snapshots are automatically pruned based on the extension's retention settings. The default retention period is 90 days, and users can change this in the options page.

User controls

Users can control TabSense behavior from the extension's settings, including:

Children's privacy

TabSense is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under 13.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or clarifications to our practices. The updated version will be posted at this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

Contact

For privacy questions about TabSense, users should contact the publisher through the support contact or website listed on the extension's Chrome Web Store page.

Note: If TabSense later adds sync, analytics, cloud storage, AI processing, or any other remote service, this policy should be updated before those features are released.
